Air Transat is expanding its reach with a new nonstop route connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport and Georgetown, the capital of Guyana. The airline will operate flights on Tuesdays and Fridays from Dec. 16, 2025, to April 24, 2026.
This exciting addition to Air Transat's winter program
caters to the growing demand for travel between Canada and Guyana.
"With this new route, we are expanding our presence in
South America while optimizing the use of our aircraft," stated Sebastian
Ponce, Transat's chief revenue officer. He further explained that the route
addresses the needs of the large Guyanese diaspora in Canada, while also
appealing to the rising tourism market and leisure travelers seeking unique
destinations.
The new Toronto-Georgetown service, developed in cooperation
with Guyanese and Canadian authorities, is still pending regulatory approval.
Flights are expected to be available for booking within the next few days.
Air Transat will utilize its modern and efficient Airbus
A321LR aircraft on this route.
In 2013, Air Transat announced plans to lease a fleet of Boeing737-800 aircraft for its 2015 winter program. Those planes would fly to destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.
Further details about Air Transat's comprehensive winter
2025-2026 program will be announced soon.
