At 9:10 a.m. EST Friday, a Delta Air Lines jet (flight 2668) aborted takeoff at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport due to an “engine issue.” Passengers deplaned via emergency slides and were safely transported to a nearby concourse.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport released a
statement on X saying four passengers reported minor injuries; one was
transported, and the remaining three were treated on scene.
The airport went on to say operations at Atlanta are delayed due to the incident and ongoing severe weather. The aircraft, a Boeing 757-300, and the runway are expected to be cleared shortly. According to the Federal Aviation Administration website, Atlanta is under a “ground stop” until 2 p.m.
